Sunrise Films manages the entire location scouting process for film shoots in Spain: from the initial search to obtaining permits and the pre-production technical visit. Sunrise Films has its own film equipment, which is invoiced from its headquarters in Murcia. Cameras, lenses, lighting, and sound equipment are available for fast delivery throughout Spain. Since this equipment is invoiced by a company with its registered office in Murcia, each rental is eligible as a local expense for the purpose of justifying ICA subsidies.

Sunrise Films operates with the most advanced drone equipment on the market for aerial filming in any territory where we work. We manage flight permits with the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) in controlled airspace and coordinate the operation with the director of photography to seamlessly integrate the aerial footage into the filming workflow.

Spain offers a system of tax incentives for international productions that includes a 30% tax break on the first million euros of spending and 25% on the remainder—with the exception of the Canary Islands, where the incentive is 50%, and Navarre, where a 35% tax break applies. Production service companies based in Spain are an operational requirement to access these incentives: they manage the deductible local expenses, the relationship with the Tax Agency, and the documentation necessary for the tax break. Sunrise Films acts as that local partner.

Yes. We are accustomed to working with the expense approval systems and Purchase Order formats of production companies in the UK, the US, or anywhere in the world. We adapt our documentation to each client’s administrative requirements.
Invoices issued to foreign companies not resident in Spain are exempt from VAT under the reverse charge mechanism. Your accounting department will not need to process Spanish VAT refunds.
Yes. We have a specific public liability insurance policy for audiovisual productions. If the project requires it, we also manage equipment, accident, and production cancellation insurance with insurers specializing in the audiovisual sector.
